Brittany Herman, MSA, RD, LD, Director of School Menu Solutions™

Brittany is a Registered Dietitian with over 10 years of experience in child nutrition. She leads our School Menu Solutions™ team and currently supports approximately 70 school districts nationwide with comprehensive menu planning, regulatory compliance, and operational strategy.

She directed district-wide menu planning, managed special diets, and ensured ongoing audit readiness. During her tenure, Brittany partnered with district stakeholders to design and implement a wide range of nutrition education and outreach initiatives, including programs focused on sustainability, Farm to School, National Nutrition Month, and Sports Nutrition.

Prior to her district-level work, Brittany served as a Nutrition Standards Program Specialist for the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. In this role, she provided technical assistance, training, and program support to sponsors across Florida’s 67 counties, helping them strengthen compliance and improve program operations throughout the state.

What I love about my work:

I love easing the burden on our directors by simplifying complex compliance requirements, streamlining menu planning and software management, and taking care of day-to-day problem solving so they can stay focused on what matters most — feeding kids.

Fun fact:

I’m fascinated by the gut-brain connection and how it affects our mental and physical health. I love exploring how I can make gut-friendly foods at home, like yogurt and sourdough from scratch!
